Refurbishment
An internal refurbishment for an ageing building used as a mosque
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Bradford required renovation works to their existing mosque. The first requirement was to refurbish the existing toilets, to make them larger and also have a modern appearance.
After surveying the building and drawing up the existing plan we redesigned the existing male toilets by removing existing walls to create an open plan. This allowed us to maximise the amenities and create 3 times as many cubicles as existed previously. We created 3d visuals for the client to enable them to understand the final look.
The final colour scheme was selected as a result of budget implications but the overall layout and design was retained.
As a result of the building survey an existing loft space was discovered that could be converted into a classroom this was also met with positivity and is being considered as future works.
